Conditions For Neechabhanga

Accroding to Phaladeepika (V11-26 to 30), a planet is said to be in Neechabhanga(debilitation) gets cancellation of NeechaBhanga when:
  • The lord of the debilitated sign or the planet that gets exalted in that sign is in kendra(quadrant) from the Ascendant or the Moon.
  • The lord of the debilitated sign and the lord of the exalted sign are in mutual kendras.
  • The planet in depression is aspect by its sign-dispositor (owner of the sign)
  • The lord of depression sign or the lord of the exaltation sign of the depressed planet is in a kendra from the ascendant or the Moon.
  • The planet in debilitation is in a kendra from the Ascendant or the Moon.

In the above even though Moon is in Neecha in Amsa, you can notice that the effect is nullified because of applying the above principles of neechabhanga
  1. Jupiter, the planet who gets exalted in the debilitated planet Moon's sign is in a Kendra or quandrant from the Navamsa Moon.
  2. The Moon's sign-dispositor Mars is in a kendra from the Navamsa Ascendant.
  3. Venus, the planet in whose sign taurus the Moon gets exalted, is also in kendra from the navamsa ascendant.
  4. The rulers of the signs of the exaltation and debilitation respectively of the Moon, namely venus and Mars are in mutual kendras.
